2T Projected Field Magnet

HTS-110’s projected-field magnet is designed for a variety of applications which need unlimited access to a sample above the magnet surface. Combining its peak field of higher than 2.5 tesla above the pole tip, its compactness allows this magnet to be easily integrated into complex systems such as magnetic probing systems, scanning probe microscopy (SPM) and scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM).

Model Selection

Our Projected Field HTS magnet platform is shared between models constructed with first-generation (PF-1G) and second-generation (PF-2G) superconducting wire.

PF-2G adds extreme efficiency and commercial usability to the proven PF-1G platform, reducing power consumption by a factor of 10 allowing you to use a standard single phase electric outlet. The mass is also reduced from 55 kg to 15 kg giving you a true benchtop HTS magnet.

PF-1G retains an edge in peak field generation, but outside of specific use cases we would suggest specifying the PF-2G model for the lower total cost of ownership, improved commercial usability and reduced environmental impact.

PF-custom offers you a fully bespoke magnet design for your application and can be built on the HTS Projected Field platform or refined from a specific model.
