Current projects at HTS-110:
- HTS high speed generator: light weight, compact, and high power output, connecting directly to a gas turbine with no gearbox required. Ideal transportable power unit for remote or backup generation
- HTS minesweeper: coil system for an advanced minesweeper development
- Short current lead: ideal for cryocooled magnets employing two-stage cryocoolers; the lead is only 170mm long so is easier to integrate, and offers similar thermal performance to our standard leads
- X-ray diffraction: a compact, high performance magnet for in-field diffraction studies
- Magnet for optical experiments: a 5 tesla split pair offering room temperature radial optical access
- Magnet for neutron reflectometry studies: 5 tesla, large gap, split-pair magnet, cryocooled for ease of use.
HTS-110 is also exploring partnerships in the following new areas:
- Magnetic separation: for the clean-up of industrial waste, applicable to many industry sectors
- HTS NMR: for industrial nuclear magnetic resonance analysis
- HTS short solenoid, an ideal magnet for optical experiments through the ease of access to the sample zone. Solenoid height available from as low as 45 mm.
